With over 30 years of teaching expeience, Stella is a natural when it comes to explaining how to create effiicent and effective movement within the mind, body and soul. In college she studied awareness based methodologies of Psychology. At home she studies transpersonal psychology, folk technology rituals, reiki and when she finally made it to yoga school in 2006 was so happy to have found a non-judgemental space to be creatively free. Instantly she began her own branch of Cloud Nine Yoga and has personally graduated over 200 students. She has studied with teachers like Julian Walker, David Wolfe, Svetlana Effranova-Reed, & David Wilcock. Hosting over 20 retreats from small and intimate lake front setting to rewilding in the desert or camping in Kings Canyon, Stella is the hostess with the mostess and is extraordinarily excited to share all of the insights and lessons that have brought her such clarity of mind, peace of heart and compassionate body.
Has been living many forms of yoga-before she ever knew it- since she started surfing at age 12. Her natural love for human movement and play earned her a BS in Kinesiology from CSU, Fullerton, in 2008. She began her journey with Cloud Nine Yoga in 2006 and has been teaching yoga throughout Orange County ever since. April specializes in teaching the structural side of yoga, emphasizing the anatomical and physiological benefits of asana practice. Her 15+ years of international surfing experience has also carried over into her teaching style, she has a natural ability to go-with-the-flow and always has a smile on her face!
Yoga taught me the importance of breath and moving with intention. I had spent so much of my life reacting to things, my emotions, to others, it was healing to revive a sense of control over my own life. In 2013, I began my deeper study and got certified as a Yoga Teacher at Stella Luna Yoga in Cypress. I have been teaching ever since. I continue to learn, grow and gain awareness. I engage my students with my friendly and outgoing personality, and teach sequences that allow my students to expand outward while strengthening from within. It’s about circulating stuck energy, and allowing my students to find their own unique voice/dance in their practice. By teaching yoga, I wish to inspire others to gain inner awareness and embrace their own light. My vibrant attitude and love for life is for you to use as fuel for your inner fire so you can live with positive energy and balance.I currently travel with Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League as a warmup and stretch trainer along with teaching my classes and empowering my private clients at home. I began practicing yoga in 2009, as a way to keep my body active and strong. After years of testing my body’s limits in competitive sports, mainly soccer, I needed a new outlet for all my energy. Yoga healed my sciatic nerve pain, it cleared my mind and best of all its unique physical and mental challenges strengthened my spirit in a radiant way.

Cloud Nine Yoga is a 200/300 Yoga Alliance Registered School since 2002. We have been training yoga teachers and offering certification courses since 1999.
Our school prides itself in being a community-based, non-dogmatic Yoga Education entity with a history of facilitating the awakening of many hearts and teaching freedom of mind and body. To complete your R.Y.T. 500 with Cloud Nine Yoga:
1) Graduate from a 200-hr RYT Program
2) Spend 60 hours with a mentor teacher (at your leisure)
3) Complete 100 hours teaching your own classes
4) Complete 50 hrs of personal development
5) Take a 5-day 40 hr Retreat with Stella or approved C9 retreat
5) Complete the Masters Program 130hrs of modules
6) Complete 30 hrs of taking classes as a student
7) Complete 10hrs of personal development.

In the meantime please encourage your pregnant friends to come and take gentle, yin, basics. All of our teachers here are trained personally by Stella, who is a professional Doula and has 3 children, in order to ensure a quality and safe experience for momma and baby.

Stella Luna believes that education should be affordable to attend. We offer easy payment plans and discounts for paying in full up front. Aside from this, we often create ways in which those in financial hardship, are still able to participate in our programs. We provide the highest quality of yoga training experience possible to anyone enthusiastic about learning from us.
Stella Luna Yoga Work Study Agreement
Our front desk and custodial positions require one shift per week (2-4 hours), with a minimum commitment of six months. Work-study must be, reliable, punctual and accountable. In exchange for your time, efforts and recurring $25 monthly fee, you receive unlimited Yoga classes, discounts on workshops and the 200-hour teacher-training program.
To be eligible for the work-study program you must:
- Have attended Stella Luna Yoga classes regularly for at least three months
- Possess exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Exhibit strong administrative skills; including but not limited to, computer literacy, and excellent organizational skills
- Commit to the position for at least six months
- Be punctual in person and with communication
- Attend four yoga classes per month
- Sign up for $25 recurring monthly fee
- Regularly attend Stella Luna Yoga classes, staff meetings and events
